MADSAKI x UFO907の二人展が六本木”CLEAR EDITION&GALLERY”にて開催される。

「おれ達はむかしからの友達だよ。1992年くらいだったと思う。当時おれらはのPaul’s Boutiqueの真向かえの Rivington St. に2人で 住んでいたんだけど、翌年ブルックリンのSouth 3rdに引っ越した。ペンキと筆を手にした Beavis and Butthead* の様にむちゃくちゃだったことを覚えている。当時は誰にどう思われようが どうでもよかった。いまでもそれは全く変わらないよ。」

今なお現役のグラフィティー・ライターとして独特のUFOモチーフをNYのあらゆるところに残し続けているFO907と、7月の個展も記憶に新しいMADSAKIの2人展になる今回は、お互いが密度の高い時間を過ごし、現在の制作の原点とも言えるブルックリンで過ごした「部屋」をギャラリーに再現する。

この部屋と当時(90年代初頭)のNYの喧騒をお互いの現在進行形のスタイルで表現。会期は短いが、2人の作家としての原点を垣間みることができる数少ない機会になると思うので、お誘い合わせの是非!!

“We go way back. 1992? We used to live on Rivington St. right in front of Paul’s Boutique. Then we moved to Brooklyn South 3rd the next year and shit got crazy. We were like Beavis and Butthead with paints and brushes back then. We didn’t give a fuck. Even today.“ – MADSAKI

We are proud to host this joint exhibition by MADSAKI and UFO907. Continuing from his solo show in July, this time MADSAKI will reunite with UFO907, an artist whom is still active on the streets of NY and well known for his distinct UFO+alien motif, and also room mate in Brooklyn during the early 90’s.

The times these two spent together were extremely intense but important for their artist careers to come. This short term exhibition aims to reinterpret a“living room”on South 3rd of Brooklyn, where they nourished their origin which connects to their styles and stance today.
